Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between teachers’ pedagogical competence and the quality of learning in early childhood education (PAUD) institutions in West Java. The background of this research lies in the observation that variations in pedagogical competence among teachers may significantly affect children’s learning experiences and outcomes. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 120 PAUD teachers from Bandung and surrounding areas, selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires on pedagogical competence and learning quality. The Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.72, p < 0.01) between pedagogical competence and learning quality. The results indicate that teachers with higher pedagogical competence demonstrate better planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning activities. This finding suggests the importance of continuous professional development programs to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence. The study contributes to strengthening educational quality policies in early childhood education.
